Online Safety

Each year millions of people meet their partners on matchmaking sites just like ours. We believe online safety is paramount to having a good experience using our service online and offline.

As an online Company we have a duty of care to our Members, so when using any type of online communication with strangers you will need to use, your instincts and common sense to determine if the individual you are communicating with is genuine.

Our Admin Team review all profiles and monitor any suspicious activity which results in suspension or deleting of un-genuine users, we advise all Members to take the time and read our safety tips below, so you can have a pleasant and save experience using our service.

Online Safety Tips

1. First of all there is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger online.

2. Always take your time to get to know the person. Find out as much as possible about the person you are communicating with before you meet them in person.

3. Don’t rush into anything and proceed one step at a time at your own pace.

4. Ask lots of questions when communicating and be alert for any inconsistencies in their answers. Make notes if you are suspicious of anything, and even sometimes repeat and ask the same question at a later stage to see if the answer is the same as the previous one.

5. When communicating online never include your last name, e-mail address, home address, phone numbers, place of work, or any other identifying information in your profile. Stop communicating with anyone who pressurizes you for personal or financial information, or attempts in any way to trick you into revealing it.

6. If you are not sure if the Member you are communicating with is displaying a genuine photo of themselves, just ask them to upload a new photo with their thumps up as a code, or you can be more specific and create your own unique code. Then compare the new photo with the original profile photo the Member is displaying. Members can upload 7 photos so there’s no excuse why they cannot upload another photo.

7. Use our safety features if you are uncomfortable or suspicious about another Member, these two safety features allow you to block Members & report them to us.

8. It is safer to message and communicate through our site as this can ensure your complete safety & privacy. But if you feel you want to give your contact details you will need to be 100% confident & sure in doing so.

Offline Safety Tips

1. We recommend before you commit to meeting any Member, start to communicate through our Video Chat, this way you get a sense of the person and their character before you physically meet them in person. Chatting with someone through video communication gives you many more advantages in getting to really know someone, compared to sending text and email messaging.

2. If you decide to meet another Member make sure you meet in the daytime, and in a public place/area that you are familiar with.

3. It's best to meet during the day and in a place where there are many people around.

4. Never agree to be picked up from your home or work place. Always provide your own transportation to and from your meeting point.

5. Tell a friend/family member where you are going, or even let them come with you and they can watch from a distance.

6. Bring your mobile/cell phone with you and ensure it’s fully charged, it’s important to keep a phone with you in case of emergency.

7. Do not share personal information and avoid giving specific details about where you work or live.

8. Always have a backup plan in case things do not go the way you expected. For example, tell a friend to call you half an hour into your date and check up on you, but make sure to be discreet when answering.

9. Avoid any kind of substance that can impair your judgement.

10. Always use your common sense and follow your instincts, if something feels off or you are uncomfortable at any time do not hesitate to end the date early.
